Lombok Gili Island Activities - Diving, Snorkeling, Fishing, Pony Ride

SNORKELING         
There is a number of islands you can explore and on most of the islands are coral reefs which are only 40 meters away from your private beach. It is highly recommended to take your own private boat moored at your villa to the nearby Gilli Goleng for a more exciting diving experience. A beautiful sand fringed island is located only 400 meters offshore. In all the privacy you can enjoy a picnic and snorkeling from the shore over the magnificent coral reefs along with the see rays and giant clams.

SWIMMING
40 meters from your doorstep is your own private beach and it is safe to swim in the crystal clear waters of the bay. Very suitable for kids in particular as it is shallow and slope.

DIVING
There are certainly numerous excellent diving spots for the experienced divers just within a short trip from your villa. An excellent diving school is also there for the less experienced divers just down the coast. They offer a reasonable tuition and  advise you the best spots to dive in depending on your level of experience. Professional divers with snorkel, fins and mask will also be amazed here - the unspoiled island of Lombok is simply hidden within the single richest marine environment in the world. The clean, warm and tranquil waters contain fifteen percent of the world’s coral reefs and accommodate more than four thousand species of living being under water. It is indisputably a diver’s paradise.

SURFING
The world famous Desert Point is claiming to be ‘the best left-handed break in the world’ and many surfers around the world consider it as a mecca. With Kuta as one of the most popular spots for surfers, it provides the professional with all possible surfing gadgets. As the sun rises from the horizon, lines of Balinese are approaching the beach and controlling their surf-boards with the same attentios as to their traditional dances, mastering the waves and penetrating the tubes. There are even places around Kuta Beach for more difficult surfing techniques. But we recommend you to talk to the locals first so you won't get into trouble.

FISHING
The most favourite activities on the islands is fishing. The best spot for Deep fishing remains on the north-west part of Gili Trawangan.  To ‘cast your line’ anywhere and anytime you want there is private boat moored at private beaches. Rods are provided by us at the villa.

PONY RIDE
We have our own pony called Coco who we rescued from the routine life of pulling a ‘cidomo’ cart around the streets of downtown Mataram. Coco is available for pony and cart rides along the lane or the beach.

BEACHES
Despite the trappings of modern tourism, Lombok is still offering pristine and sandy white beaches lined with tropical trees and the warmest and cleanest waters in the world.
There is a famous place on the south coast part of Lombok which is called Kuta Beach (Sometime spelt Kute Beach), a magnificent and broad white sandy beach with crystal clear blue sea and rugged hills rising around it.
Villa Pao Pao is providing the guests with its very own private beach just 40 meters from the doorstep as well.

ISLAND HOPING
The name "Gili islands" might be familiar for most of us, but the name doesn’t derive from local spelling. Gili actually means small island and there are lots of other gilis around Lombok. If you wish a little exploring, direct access to your own private boat is always recommended.

AREAS IN THE SURROUNDING
Since we are less developed than Bali, Lombok has better beaches, a bigger volcano and a greater variety of landscapes. Thanks to the low key tourism, many Lombokians are less blasé about the tourists than the neighbouring Balinese inhabitants affording you to find your own private paradise very easy. Lombok is a fascinating and unforgettable place to explore. It is generally rural and still untouched with the friendly local people.   Known as the second highest volcano in Indonesia, a trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani is a challenging task but rewarding once you reach to the top and catch the breathtaking views.
For a less energetic activity we also have bicycle for the guests to ride through the rice paddies or simply pop over to the nearby island of Bali.

DINING EXPERIENCE
Lombok provides the guests with many endless possibilities as there are country’s greatest cuisines. The choices will definitely make you amazed. Tourist-oriented restaurants abound in tourist centre with Indonesian and Chinese cuisines dominate the choices.
Lombok foods contain many spices, often served with coconut milk, create a rich flavour and creamy texture to intriguing dishes like poultry, meat, tropical vegetables, and fish. Ingredients like sugar, fragrant roots and leaves are basically used which make our cuisines both subtle and sophisticated. There is always rice available as it is the basic of all Indonesian meals.
