Our Villa Anandita provides our guests with a perfect romantic tropical retreat for families, friends and couples. It lies on 1.5 hectares under an array of coconut trees on the untouched and famous beach at the tip of the Tanjung Peninsula across the famous 3 Gili islands on the beautiful island of Lombok (next to Bali), just 40 minutes away from the Mataram International Airport.
Designed by the renowned Australian architect, John Lincoln, the villa consists of a central pavilion with a living room, another open-air building with dining room and a kitchen, and 4 separate air conditioned en suite pavilions which are designed to blend in with the local environment and preserve the harmony and tranquility on the beautiful beachfront with natural and artistic construction’s materials. The rooms are equipped with the finest and modern local furniture and statues, and provided with all the possibly conveniences one would expect of a luxury villa.
Close to the Lombok Oberoi, the villa is located next to the Hosaido Golf Course and only five minutes away by boat from the Gili Islands.
Introduction
The Anandita – means “Happiness” in Sanskrit – lies on the beautiful island of Lombok and is recognized by many guests as a new and exclusive hideaway. This absolute beachfront estate with 4 bedroom pavilions, full staffs and facilities, will set a new standard of luxury villas in Lombok.
Well-situated under lines of coconut trees on an unspoiled and pristine beach across the famous 3 Gili islands, The Anandita is absolutely unforgettable and endlessly peaceful. Situated on 1.5 hectares of tropical trees and plants with spectacular colours, the estate offers a perfect tropical retreat for families, friends and couples. Lines of coconut trees are extending across a closely manicured grass lawn, which creats a spacious playground for kids (and adults). The garden is a delight of its own and especially designed and decorated with the island’s frangipanis, bougainvilleas, lotus, water lilies and many other flamboyant species.
Accommodation
The Main Building
The villa provides the guests with a central pavilion equipped with a living room, another open-air building with dining room and a kitchen, surrounded by 4 separate private pavilions which built to blend in with the local environment. Designed by the renowned Australian architect, John Lincoln, only local materials such as wooden roofs and Palimanan stones are used to build The Anandita. It is designed with the finest and modern Indonesian furniture, statues and therefore preserves harmony and tranquility.
The living room is quiet warm and spacious provided with sofas, TV, DVD player, Hi-Fi, computer with broadband internet access and a snooker table. A huge free standing stone fresco creates a large accent wall and separates the living area from the entry.
The wide terrace which overlooks the pool is providing an excellent spot for sunbathing, afternoon tea or evening dancing. Via a corridor with plenty of ponds filled with lotus, it gives you direct access to a spacious open dining room, with a long and massive teak table for up to 12 guests. A modern and fully equipped kitchen is only a few steps away, provided with 2 separate cooking areas, one for the guests who enjoy cooking and the back area for the chef. There is a long bar table with high chairs which is perfect for a morning breakfast or an evening aperitif.
A huge swimming pool (26m long) is situated near to the main building and under the shades of the array of coconut trees, and is made of Indian stones only. The pool follows natural contours and mixes beautifully with the garden. The pool is equipped with a Jacuzzi and refreshing water fall.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms are equipped with a picturesque view to the sea and the pool. Each room can accommodate one couple and 2 children (with additional single beds). The rooms have air-conditioners, ceiling fans, safe deposit boxes, mini bar, and refrigerator. A sliding door made of glass allows a stunning view and instant access to the sea, the pool and the lawn. On the front of each pavilion, lawn chairs are situated under a parasol for our guests to relax.
Bedroom 1
Equipped with a king size bed and 2 single children beds with a TV set and DVD player. At the back there are sliding doors made of glass to the en-suite bathroom which can be opened and give a direct access to a private walled garden with an outdoor shower nested among the luxuriant exotic vegetation which are enjoyable from the classic bathtub.
Bedroom 2
Provided with a king size bed and 2 single children beds. The sliding door made of glass simply gives a stunning view and direct access to the sea, the pool and the lawn. At the back, the glass sliding doors of the en-suite bathroom can be opened to lead to a private walled garden equipped with an outdoor shower nested among luxuriant exotic vegetation which can also be viewed and enjoyed from the classic bathtub.
Bedroom 3
Considered as the largest bedroom and equipped with a king size bed, 2 single children beds and a long couch. It is fully equipped with a TV set, DVD player and a large enclosed en-suite bathroom with a “rain” shower.
Bedroom 4
the smallest bedroom we have here and is equipped with a king size bed and 1 single child bed. It has a TV set and DVD player as well. An outdoor garden bathroom lies separated with a tall wall decorated with huge primitive style stone carvings gives our guests a kind of feeling of the fresh air while they are bathing in a sunk-in terrazzo bathtub watching the stars at night or the ocean.
Management & Staffs
Our staffs will look after you to cater your every need under the strict supervision of our manager, well trained with previous experience in several managing 4 star hotels. The team consists of one waitress, one cleaning staff, one pool technician who also supports and helps organizing the sport activities, seven gardeners, one chef, one cooking assistant and three security guards.
The manager and few other staffs speak good English and the manager stays in the Villa 24 hours during guests’ occupancy.
Our chef – experienced with the best hotels such as the Oberoi – can prepare a wide choice of Western and Asian delicacies.
Laundry service and a baby cot is available on request.
Beach
The Anandita beach is totally still untouched with its white sands and calm waters stretching along the Penta Sirai Bay. Guests can have a walk along the beach, watching the crystal clear waters and find bright orange or deep blue starfish and colourful seashells. It is a perfect spot for long promenades or jogging.
While watching the local fishermen coming back with their night catch on their small wooden fishing boats with colourful triangular sails, our guests can enjoy the sea breeze under the cooling shades of the “Bale”. It is simply the perfect spot for enjoying the sunrise of the Rinjani of Lombok (3726m) and the sunset on the Mount Agung in Bali.
A place like no other else, where guests can congregate before and/or after each meal to sip cocktails and just chat.
Activities
In the nearby there are traditional Sasak villages, waterfalls and fabulous trails up to the Rinjani volcano and the famous 3 Gili islands to explore.
Fishing, snorkeling and diving are sensational and encountered with giant sea turtles likely aound the 3 Gili islands. The Anandita beach is hidden in the best spot along with a line of well preserved coral reef, teaming with exotic and colourful fish.
Trying our sea kayaks and row along the coast of the Bay is highly recommended, or simply charter an outrigger boat for a picnic party on one of the Gili islands.
The Villa provides our guests with several well-maintained mountain bikes. You can walk or ride a bicycle around the bay through tapioca fields and coconut plantations. There you can see villagers tending their crops, plowing their fields with buffaloes or attending their horses. Life moves at a really slow pace around Lombok. Horse Carts rental is available in the local village for an easy and relaxing sightseeing tour of the village.
A visit to the nearby market early in the morning around 6AM can give you an interesting insight into the daily life of the local people. All kinds of local commodities like fish, meat, spices, fruits, vegetables, clothes, utensils and souvenirs are there. The market is an absolute “must see” to get a closer feeling of the island and its charm.
We surely have a club house of the 18 holes called Kosaido golf course which is less than a few hundred meters to reach, with its stunning views of the valleys, the mountains and the turquoise sea.
At the end of the afternoon our staffs will be happy to challenge you for a volleyball game. If you prefer to relax after a long day, a massage is the best alternative to enjoy the thrilling view of the ocean and it can be arranged at the beach bale or in your room.
A sunset drink can also be enjoyed while watching the last rays of the sun over Mount Agung and the islands.
Where the sky and the stars will only be your limit, our staffs will serve you a BBQ dinner in the evening on the beach or under the coconut trees. A local live band can liven your evening with songs and music of past and present on request.

How to get there
Lombok Island lies next to Bali. Both islands can be reached either by air or fast/slow ferry. Upon arrival, our guests will be greeted by the Anandita staffs and driven to the villa. (Return airport / pier transfers are included in the rate)
The Anandita is just 40 minutes away by car from the Mataram International Airport via the Monkey forest, 30 minutes away from the town of tourist resort in Sengigi, 15 minutes away from Tandjung and 5 minutes away from the famous five star Oberoi hotel.
The area is very well covered by 2 GSM/GPRS mobile providers which usually allow flawless mobile phone communications and blackberry email and messaging services. Internet access is limited to dial up only, but is sufficiently reliable for sending and receiving emails. A PC with a printer are provided for the guests to use.
